Syndera Names Sun and HP Veteran, Karen Barnes, to Vice President of Engineering

Barnes Brings Combined Early-stage and Public Company Development Expertise to Experienced Team

REDWOOD CITY, CA., September 13, 2005 - Syndera, the leading provider of Operational Intelligence solutions, announced Karen Barnes as Vice President of Engineering. Barnes has over 20 years experience managing development teams at both public and early stage companies and will direct all of Syndera’s engineering efforts. Barnes reports directly to Syndera CEO, Janet Heppner-Jones.

Most recently Barnes served as Vice President of Products at Resonate, an enterprise software company that provided performance management solutions for notable customers like Bank of America, Charles Schwab and Citibank. While there, Barnes managed engineering and customer support from the company’s early stage through its IPO and acquisition. Throughout her career she has managed teams in California, Colorado, Shanghai and Moscow. Previously, Barnes held senior executive positions at Legato Systems and Sun Microsystems. She began her career at HP where she worked for 14 years in a variety of roles, including software engineering, IT management, and sales.
