The Syndera management team is comprised of industry veterans with the experience and acumen that comes from guiding leading software companies from startup to IPO and beyond, including notable companies like CrossWorlds, HP, IBM, SAP, Sun and Sybase.
Prashant Gupta, Chief Executive Officer
Prashant Gupta brings to Syndera over 20 years of technology, management and business experience, demonstrating industry leadership as both a technologist and an entrepreneur. Prior to Syndera, Mr. Gupta founded Tivre, Inc. and served as president and CEO. Mr. Gupta was also Senior Vice President & Chief Technology Officer at CrossWorlds Software, and was instrumental in CrossWorlds' successful growth to an $80 million publicly held company, which was acquired by IBM in January 2002. Mr. Gupta has also held lead technology positions at Informix Software and Sybase, Inc., and was Chief Engineer at GWDI.
Mr. Gupta has been published in various technology and industry journals, and holds over 15 patents in networking, database, middleware and software performance technology. He serves as a trustee for the International School of Monterey and an advisor to several private venture and industry organizations.
Mr. Gupta holds a Bachelor of Science, with Honors in Electronics & Computer Engineering, from BITS, Pilani, India.

Karen Barnes, Vice President of Engineering
Karen Barnes has over twenty years of management experience in the software industry. Most recently Ms. Barnes served as Vice President of Products at Resonate, an enterprise software company. She joined the company in the pre-IPO stage and stayed there over 4 years through its IPO and acquisition.
Previously, Ms. Barnes held executive positions at Legato Systems and Sun Microsystems. At Sun, she was the director of the Solaris Operating Systems Software organization. Upon leaving Sun, Ms. Barnes joined Legato Systems as Business Unit Manager directing all product development and deployment of enterprise products. Throughout her career she has managed teams at locations in California, Colorado, Shanghai and Moscow. Ms. Barnes started her career at Hewlett-Packard where she worked for 14 years in a variety of roles.
Ms. Barnes holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from the University of California at Berkeley.

Barbara Tygesen, Vice-President, Professional Services and Pre-Sales
Barbara Tygesen has over 20 years of management experience in the application software industry building successful pre and post sales teams. Most recently as Vice President of Client Services at Epiance, Inc. Ms. Tygesen established the client support organization, providing 24 hour support for the product. Previously Ms. Tygesen held senior management positions at Advent and Financial Models Company directing their financial services consulting practice. Ms. Tygesen has also held senior management positions at Pandesic, SAP, and Dun & Bradstreet Software in sales, training, and implementation services consistently achieving President's Club status for outstanding achievement.
Ms. Tygesen holds a Bachelor of Science, in Finance, from the University of Connecticut.
