Prashant Gupta
Prashant Gupta brings to Syndera over 20 years of technology, management and business experience, demonstrating industry leadership as both a technologist and an entrepreneur. Prior to Syndera, Mr. Gupta founded Tivre, Inc. and served as president and CEO. Mr. Gupta was also Senior Vice President & Chief Technology Officer at CrossWorlds Software, and was instrumental in CrossWorlds' successful growth to an $80 million publicly held company, which was acquired by IBM in January 2002. Mr. Gupta has also held lead technology positions at Informix Software and Sybase, Inc. and was Chief Engineer at GWDI.
Mr. Gupta has been published in various technology and industry journals, and holds over 15 patents in networking, database, middleware and software performance technology. He serves as a director on several boards, including Promeria and Tivre, and is a trustee for the International School of Monterey and an advisor to several private venture and industry organizations.
Mr. Gupta holds a BS degree with honors in Electronics & Computer Engineering from BITS, Pilani, India.
Fred Amoroso
Fred Amoroso is currently an advisor to Warburg Pincus and most recently was the Vice Chairman, President and CEO of META Group, an information technology research and advisory firm. From October 1999 until its merger with IBM in January 2002, Mr. Amoroso served as President, CEO and a director of CrossWorlds Software, Inc. From May 1997 to October 1999, he served as General Manager of IBM Global Services, Asia Pacific and from 1993 to 1997 he held various other management positions at IBM, including General Manager of the worldwide insurance business unit, General Manager of the North American insurance business unit and President of the insurance consulting practice. Before joining IBM, Mr. Amoroso held various positions at Price Waterhouse, now PricewaterhouseCoopers, including lead technology partner and partner in charge of the worldwide insurance consulting practice. Mr. Amoroso also serves as a member of the Foundry Networks' Board of Directors.
Andy Ludwick
Andy Ludwick was the co-founder of SynOptics Communications and the former CEO of Bay Networks. As CEO of SynOptics from its inception, Mr. Ludwick grew the company from a startup to $700M in annual revenue. Mr. Ludwick continued to serve as CEO of Bay Networks, an internetworking company formed in 1994 by the merger of SynOptics Communications and Wellfleet Systems. From 1994 to 1996, Ludwick grew Bay Networks from $1.2B to $2.0B in annual revenues and then sold it to Nortel Networks. Prior to founding SynOptics, Mr. Ludwick was with Xerox Corporation. He received a BA degree from Harvard College ('67) and an MBA from the Harvard Business School ('69.)
In 1996, Mr. Ludwick was awarded Harvard Business School's prestigious Alumni Achievement Award for his entrepreneurial success. Mr. Ludwick serves on the Dean's Council of Harvard College, and is a member of Harvard University's COUR. He serves on the Board of Directors of Foundry Networks and is also a director of the Santa Rita Foundation, a private non-profit charitable organization.
Terry Opdendyk
Terry Opdendyk founded ONSET Ventures in 1984 and has specialized in working with information and medical technology start-ups for more than 30 years. Prior to launching the firm, Terry was President of VisiCorp, guiding the software publishing company from inception into an industry leader. Early in his career, Terry worked as a technical manager for Hewlett-Packard and later headed Intel Corporation's microcomputer systems business and microprocessor development activities.
At ONSET Ventures, Terry maintains a broad spectrum of investment interests. He serves on the boards of both public and private companies and has helped guide start-ups from initial concepts to world-class companies, including Adaptive Planning, Arcot Systems, Callidus Software, Nektar Therapeutics (formerly Inhale Therapeutics), Nextance and Penederm.
Terry received a B.S. from the Michigan State University Honors College and an M.S. from Stanford University. Terry also is a Fellow at the Lester Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Haas School of Business, University of California.
